99% of the time when I tell someone whether that be a teacher, co-worker, or friend that I am a triplet I am asked questions. The questions do get repetitive at times and I'm use to it now so my answers are standard. Some people who have never met a triplet before find it so cool and I understand my upbringing is different than most. Next time you encounter a triplet think of these questions.
#1-What is it like being a triplet?
This is probably my most asked question. It is hard for me to fully answer this question because I do not know anything other than being a triplet. It is hard to describe how I have been living my whole life to someone who may not understand that, it is like me asking "what is it like having a younger brother or sister" because I would not know what that is like. The simple answer is having two brothers the same age as I growing up at the same time.
#2-Do you have any other siblings?
In my case it is only the three of us. I know of other multiples who have an older sibling. Most times parents of triplets having three at the same time is hard enough.
#3-Do you all look alike?
For any multiple this question can get annoying. Scientifically speaking when there is a girl in the mix the boys are not going to look identical to her. There are instances where two can be identical and one fraternal, all three identical (which is more rare) or all fraternal. My brothers are fraternal, which means they do not look alike. I would say people can definitely tell we are siblings. We all have hair in the auburn brown family, brown eyes and lighter skin. Even though we may have dressed in coordinating outfits when we were younger it does not make us the same person.
#4- Who is the oldest?
With most multiples the moms have c-sections and it depends on the positions of the babies and who was taken out first. This is not that big of a deal who is oldest in my eyes just because we were born minutes apart from one another. I know with twins sometimes there can be longer gaps within the delivery process but with multiples the doctors want them out the fastest in order to make sure they are healthy. Not to brag but I am the oldest by one minute.
#5- Which brother do you like better?
This is extremely hard question to answer because this can be asked to any siblings and most times we do not have a favorite. It would be like asking a parent who their favorite child is, you just can't pick. There are times when I get along better with one brother over the other but I wouldn't say they are my favorite. I love both my brothers equally.
